Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Westview Villas a condominium?

No. The Westview Villas have a Home Owners Association (HOA). The association has a set of bylaws, and takes care of the grass cutting, landscaping and snow removal (for only $100 per month). You are still responsible for everything to do with your property, including the exterior of your home (roof, windows etc). You own the land and will receive a land survey (real property report RPR) for the home once you have purchased it.

Can I have a dog?

Yes. Dogs are permitted, provided that they are no bigger than 25lb (11kg).

Can I erect a fence?

You may erect a small fence in order to create a dog run. Please see the guidelines for homeowners.

Can the in-floor heating freeze?

No. The in-floor heating system is filled with glycol, so it cannot freeze. This advanced system will bring significant savings and completely heat every inch of your villa, while operating in virtual silence and keeping your toes nice and warm.

What are the property taxes?

Approximately 1.2% of your home's value (after construction). This is slightly higher than in a larger municipality or city, because there are fewer households contributing to major infrastructure such as roads, water etc. However this is balanced out by the fact that the overall annual costs of living in Nanton are generally lower!

Can I make changes to the plans or upgrade the finishings?

Most definitely. The builders work closely with every owner to ensure they are receiving a home that meets their needs.

Can I add my own landscaping?
